Last year saw Lisa release her seventh album, her first in ten years, to great critical acclaim. She’s been All Around The World... and is now about to land in Brum, much to the delight of her Midlands fans.

You might not necessarily recognise John Thirkell if you crossed him in the street, however there's a pretty good chance that you have undoubtedly heard his extraordinary horn playing skills on one of the many hundreds of records he has played on over the past 30 years or so. John: You know what Bev, I really like it! I've always, done a lot of touring over the years. And as you may or may not know, I sort of retired from playing music about 12 or13 years ago. I stopped playing professionally and I only do the Lisa tour, coz I love her and she’s my friend. I love everybody in the band and it’s really, really good fun! John playing with Jamiroquai in the early days - 1993 in Japan on "Tighten Up" Bev: What were you influenced by at that time? Bev: Last summer you were at Gracielands recording your parts on Lisa’s album Seven. How many tracks were you part of? Bev: What's your favourite Lisa track that you enjoy playing live? Bev: I read a post in your very entertaining tour blog about the recent rehearsals and the changes made here and there. Are you all going to be playing with the same playlist tonight? Today is an important day as any other, but more so because it's Ian Devaney's birthday!
We all know him so well as Lisa's husband. Therefore, on behalf of everyone at www.lisastansfield.net and all your millions of admirers from around the world, we salute you Ian and we all wish you lots more continued success, love and happiness always! Happy Birthday X Great news for all those fans based over in Eastern Europe. Lisa has added another date to her tour agenda on the 4th November in Riga, Latvia at the "Arena Riga".

This is not Lisa's first visit to Latvia, she performed there back in 2009 for the "New Wave 2009» show. Todays "Throwback Thursday" we have a rare gem of a clip from Blue Zone, with Lisa, Ian Devaney on guitar and Andy Morris on Keyboards & Sax. With a live (ok playback) performance of their single at the time "Jackie" (unfortunately it does cut off slightly towards the end of the clip). This performance was recorded on 19th November 1988 for a French TV show at the time called "Lunettes noires pour nuits blanches" (translated as sunglasses for sleepless nights) at the The Palace theater, Montmartre in Paris (FR). Lisa reappeared solo, on the same show the following year performing her smash hit "This Is The right Time" and we all know what followed from there on after! Finally an announcement that film distributors have confirmed that Northern Soul the film will be released in cinemas in the UK in October 2014. There will be more information regarding dates and cinemas soon.
