PictureAll Around The World - (a small sample of covers * mixes available) - MP3 File link includes a new mix by DJ Paul Morrell
Rewind 25 years ago on this very day, 16th October 1989 which saw the release of Lisa's phenomenal single, 'All Around The World' in the UK.

To date, 'All Around The World' still remains as Lisa's biggest selling hit record across the globe. Arguably a perfect song, which deservedly became her 1st number one record in the UK (2 weeks). It peaked at number one across Europe including Austria (for six weeks), Netherlands (four weeks), Norway (three weeks), Spain (two weeks), Belgium (one week). Additionally it peaked at number two in Germany, number three in Ireland, Italy and Switzerland, and number four in Sweden.

The success of this record transcended across the pond over in the United States, where it reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as topping the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Dance Club Songs charts for several weeks. It was equally successful In Canada, Australia and New Zealand and the single was certified Platinum in the United States and Gold in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Austria and Sweden.

It was difficult for anyone in the music industry to ignore Lisa's formidable success, especially when it came down to awards. In early 1990, Lisa accepted her first BRIT award for British Breakthrough and the Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novellos for 'All Around The World' and the list of honours and awards continued to stack up throughout the year and beyond that.

Produced and co written with her husband Ian Devaney and their co writer at the time Andy Morris. This track spawned several exceptional remixes including Yvonne Turner, C. J. Mackintosh, David Dorrell, Eddie Gordon, Paul Witts and Steve Anderson.  It wasn't until 15th January 1990 that 'All Around The World' was released in North America, including the US remixes by DJ Mark the 45 King and Richard Sweret.

In celebration of 25 years since Lisa first released 'All Around The World' the reissue package (due out next month) allows the fans to revisit her first five studio albums with Arista in their remastered and expanded editions. On the 'Affection' reissue, it honors this amazing track by including several mixes of `All Around The World` with a remastering of the original on the new package, including a bonus track the (Long Version). On Disc 2 it includes two mixes; (Around The House Mix -by Yvonne Turner) & the (Runaway Love Mix - by Paul Witts & Eddie Gordon). Additionally, this track has been included as a promo video on the DVD disc and even includes a live version that was recorded in Birmingham on The 'Affection Tour'.

In 2003 the New York based DJ Norty Cotto mixed up a treat for the fans with special edition release in collaboration of Lisa's Greatest hits with 'The Norty Cotto Mix'. The original music video was directed by Philip Richardson and Lisa was styled in this video by David Thomas.

*Watch out for our exclusive post coming a little later today on the re-issue box-set!

Today we want to celebrate this track with fans 'all around the world' by playing a special video edition (below) which has been reworked by Andy Rick.

Press release from earMUSIC:
It’s been a busy 2014 for Grammy nominated, multi BRIT, Ivor Novello and Silver Clef Award winning singer Lisa Stansfield. Returning to the studio to record with long-time song writing partner Ian Devaney (The Bodyguard and Indecent Proposal soundtracks), she made her first musical statement  in a decade with emphatic album “Seven” earlier this year. Charting at number 13 in Germany and in the Top 40 in various European countries, the release proved - without question - that Lisa’s popularity hasn’t diminished in her 10 years away from the limelight.

On October 31st 2014 “Seven” gets a makeover on earMUSIC – “Seven+” - in form of selected remixes along with the additional inclusion of brand new song “There Goes My Heart”, a golden highlight that fits seamlessly into the context of “Seven’s” original track listing.
The remixes feature Danish/German soul production duo Cool Million, Andy Lewis, Snowboy, Moto Blanco and others, the collection transforms songs from the original release, creating brand new musical climates for Lisa’s distinctive voice and character to shine.

Marking Lisa’s powerful return to the international stage, “Seven” cemented Lisa’s position as one of the UK’s most important singers. Underpinned heavily with strong themes of love and relationships, the album works on one hand as a vicarious escape from the plagues of infatuation, and on the other as a sophisticated collection of dance floor hip shakers.

“A lot of the album is about the trap that a woman has got herself into - an unrequited, doomed or mismatched love - and how to get herself out of it… if she can.” said Lisa.

Warmly received by critics and fans alike, the album was a welcome rebirth for the Rochdale icon, who can boast sales of nearly 20 million records and a string of international top 10 hits. The Times claimed that “Seven” proves “Lisa still has the most distinctive and sensuous voice in soul-pop”, The Sun described it as “languid and wonderful, a quality return from a singer with nothing to prove but still plenty to give” and the Sunday Express stated simply that it’s “beautifully arranged, beautifully recorded and very well sung”.

As the remix edition of the first album in a decade from one of the UK’s premier recording artists, “Seven+” expands Lisa’s reborn triumph into unchartered realms, showcasing further examples of her unparalleled contribution to British soul music.
“Seven+” coincides with the second leg of Lisa Stansfield’s successful European tour as follows:

23 October 2014 - Hedon - Zwolle (NL)
24 October 2014 - De Boerderj - Zoetemeer (NL)
26 October  2014 - Casino2000, Luxembourg (LU)
27 October 2014 - (Baloise Session music festival) Event Halle, Basel (CH)
29 October 2014  Frankfurter Hof - Mainz (DE)
30 October 2014  - Colosseum Theater -  Essen (DE)
1 November 2014 - Lucerna Palace Praha, Prague (CZ)
3 November 2014 -   Torwar Hall - Warsaw (PL)
4 November 2014 - Arena Riga (LV)
