![]() The Night Of The Proms. where classical music meets pop has been going strong for over 31 years and last nights concert was the third time it has been held at the Atlas Arena in Łódź Poland. Lisa last performed at this event 18 years ago, so it was a delight to see her return to one of Europe's largest indoor music events. The orchestra, Il Novecento, was under the musical direction of Alexandra Arrieche, supported by a choir of the Technical University of Lodz. In between the main acts, the orchestra played Spring Waltz, Dvorak Slavonic Dance or the soundtrack to Star Wars. Classical violinist Jennifer Pike and percussionist / drummer, Patrick De Smet also graced the stage. The first pop performer on stage was the Lodz group Blue Cafe, they performed three songs: We Will Rock You, Bueno and Save. Simple Minds led by Jim Kerr followed and they sang several of their biggest hits including - Don't You Forget About Me. Jim Kerr enthusiastically encouraged the audience to get up, as several made their way up towards the front of the stage to greet him. Lisa led the way in the second part of the show with the support of her backing vocalist Andrea Grant. She sang 'Change', 'So Be It' and 'All Around The World'. Zucchero followed singing six tracks, including Senza una Donna , Miserere and Baila Morena followed by British singer John Miles with his performance of his well-known hit 'Music'. The finale of the show brought all the performers on stage together wrapping up with David Bowies 'Heroes'. Credit and thanks to Marcin Balczewski, Łukasz Ratajczyk & Kurt Jacobs
