A seductive, stripped down number with an irresistible up-close vocal from Lisa Stansfield. This song truly reflected the intimate tone of the entire album. This delicate unplugged performance by Lisa taken from a French TV show Taratata (from March '94) performed together with her co-writer, producer and husband Ian Devaney showcases the true tenderness and exquisiteness of Lisa's voice. It's been three years since the celebrated show Night of the Proms last visited Sweden and yesterday was Stockholm's time again and this time at the Friends Arena. Night of the Proms is an incredible musical event where classical music meets pop.The format has been around for 30 years with over 9 million tickets sold all over the world. The show brings all kinds of music together on one stage and last night was no exception. The famous stars performed some of their most celebrated songs accompanied by a choir and the symphony orchestra Il Novecento conducted by Alexandra Arrieche. Organisers of Birmingham Pride have today announced Lisa as one of the main headline artists who will be performing at the two-day LGBT festival, held over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend in May. Currently only a handful of acts have been confirmed, with The Dame Edna Experience announced to headline the Cabaret Marquee on Sunday 29 May. Headline DJs Jaguar Skills and 99 Souls have also been announced for the Dance Arena on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May respectively. The headlining artists for the Main Stage will be announced Thursday 17 March starting with the first announcement at 8am GMT and will continue throughout the day on their social media channels - Facebook and Twitter. Birmingham Pride, which celebrates its 20th year in 2016, takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May in the heart of Birmingham’s gay village. The Night Of The Proms. where classical music meets pop has been going strong for over 31 years and last nights concert was the third time it has been held at the Atlas Arena in Łódź Poland. Lisa last performed at this event 18 years ago, so it was a delight to see her return to one of Europe's largest indoor music events. The orchestra, Il Novecento, was under the musical direction of Alexandra Arrieche, supported by a choir of the Technical University of Lodz. In between the main acts, the orchestra played Spring Waltz, Dvorak Slavonic Dance or the soundtrack to Star Wars. Classical violinist Jennifer Pike and percussionist / drummer, Patrick De Smet also graced the stage. The first pop performer on stage was the Lodz group Blue Cafe, they performed three songs: We Will Rock You, Bueno and Save. Simple Minds led by Jim Kerr followed and they sang several of their biggest hits including - Don't You Forget About Me. Jim Kerr enthusiastically encouraged the audience to get up, as several made their way up towards the front of the stage to greet him. Lisa led the way in the second part of the show with the support of her backing vocalist Andrea Grant. She sang 'Change', 'So Be It' and 'All Around The World'. Zucchero followed singing six tracks, including Senza una Donna , Miserere and Baila Morena followed by British singer John Miles with his performance of his well-known hit 'Music'. The finale of the show brought all the performers on stage together wrapping up with David Bowies 'Heroes'. The singer will be entertaining race-goers with her dance-pop hits for The Jockey Club’s An Evening at the Races in August. Lisa joins acts such as Tom Jones and The Corrs, who are set to perform at Haydock in June, and Deacon Blue, who will headline An Evening at the Race at Aintree Racecourse in May. Lisa said: “I’m really excited to be headlining Haydock Park Racecourse on 5th August after the races. It’s been a little while since I last played in the North West so can’t wait to spend a summer evening with my fans.” An Evening at the Races features a six-race card followed by a show-stopping headlining performance by major artists. The Jockey Club will be hosting a number of events at around half a dozen UK racecourses throughout the year.
