Here's some nostalgia for #TakeMeBackTuesday from 2004. The French chanteuse Lââm recorded a duet together with Lisa called "Breath In, Breath Out - L'amour reviendra". We're remembering this gorgeous track today in celebration of Lââm's birthday who was born on the 1st September 1971. Lisa has been and still is, a massive musical influence for Lââm and she often refers to Lisa as one of her idols. So it was a truly a dream come true to get Lisa into the recording studio and record a song together 11 years ago. This particular track featured on Lââms' 4th studio album 'Pour Etre Libre' unfortunately the song never got her record company's blessing to release it as single. This bilingual track was co-written by Lisa, Lââm, Ian Devaney and Richard Darbyshire and produced by Ian was recorded at a Parisian recording studio in France. With the kind permission of Lââm, we're able to share some exclusive video footage from her time together in the recording studio with Lisa and Ian behind the mixing decks. In the meantime, we send our best wishes to Lââm for her continued success and a very Happy Birthday! Listen to the track in it's entirety
Lisa appeared on the BBC's 'The One Show' for a piece called Story Of the Song whereby she explains how her infamous tune 'All Around The World' came about. You can re-watch the programme until mid-August via the BBC iPlayer (UK and IRELAND only) via http://bbc.in/1UCNDGo Here are some image stills from the programme. During the peak of his career, Barry White earned gold and platinum discs for his worldwide record sales in excess of 100 million, Lisa often publicly supported his work and in 1992 whilst on a promotional tour of the U.S, Lisa and Barry re-recorded a version of her biggest hit, "All Around The World" for a small documentary piece for the UK TV show Rapido. This version was included on her single, "Time to Make You Mine" in March 1992. All royalties from this recording were donated to the charity Trading Places. Later that same year in November it was also included on Barry's album, 'Just for You'. In 1999 Lisa teamed up with Barry once again to record "The Longer We Make Love". This track featured on his album, Staying Power and was later released as a single in selected European countries on July 19th 1999. It was also issued as a promotional single in the U.S, however the song failed to make any impact on the charts. In May 2003, Barry suffered a stroke while waiting for a kidney transplant, which he needed due to complications from years of chronic high blood pressure. Sadly he passed away on 4th July 2003 in Los Angeles. Below is our featured clip of Lisa and Barry's initial meeting in L.A back in 1992 and their memorable duet together performing 'All Around The World'. Here's a little nostalgia.
