Today's 52-year-old Lisa Stansfield, together with her producer Ian Devaney, has created an album that is completely timeless and nevertheless sets in exactly where " Affection " recorded the world of music in 1989. It's rousing mid-tempo numbers that catch on immediately and, so to speak It does not matter if it's the disco (yes, these were the names of these dance clubs back then!) or at home, this music appeals to you right away, the arrangements are perfect and yet not too cluttered - just like a mature musician In addition to keyboards and sound programming, you can also hear real instruments, especially strings and even wind instruments.
The thirteen songs radiate elegance and a well-dosed power that does not miss its effect. In addition to the danceable numbers are also beautiful ballads that touch one. Very nice is " Ghetto Heaven ", which also contains a nice saxophone-solo, but one of the highlights of this album is the funky " Butterflies ", supported by fat horns and a mercilessly cool sax solo - Prince and Michael Jackson say hello! And " Twisted " comes with a casual satin rouge, paired with Northern soul, strings and brass sets, representative of the mood of this double-LP. Sexy is the grande dame of Brit Soul in " Desire " and in " Love Of My Life", the latter in the style of Grace Jones.
